Haiti marks six months since a massive earthquake shook the already poor nation. Billions of dollars have been donated to help the country rebuild but half a year later, the impoverished island nation still is dire straits. RT spoke to rapper and activist Immortal Technique, who recently spent time in Haiti. He argued that there is no long term vision in Haiti, referring to the nation as a military and police state run by the United States and the UN.

@gasttheplast becasue haiti alone cannot fix themselves thats y alot of organizations are in haiti rigth now yes making money but 87 percent of that money goes towards buiding new homes picking up debris and feeding all those people guess where the other 13 percent goes mmm i wonder to the organazion yes but for what to feed and maintian the people that are down there helping so instead of talking sit on youtube why dont you actually find groups that are down there and sing up is great

@erendili, you’re correct about the coup against aristide. when his supporters were banned from running in recent elections, 90% of the haitians responded with an election boycott.
then there were the murders in cite du soleil of aristide supporters in broad daylight in 2005. at first, UN (i can’t remember..i think brazilian and greek) stood by and did nothing and then, later, joined in the killing. that’s why the haitians hate the UN and want them out.
Well I do have to partially agree with him in some of the points. BUT he is completely right towards the end. There was an overnight military occupation where the USA took possession and control of all ports and controlled everything coming in and going out and then used the entire scenario to try and project a positive image for the USA and Israel to the rest of the world; They indeed exploited human suffering. nothing new.
@deltabro, you and several others make a valid point that RT is an excellent news service. however, keep in mind that RT was created as part of putin’s repackaging of russia as a “kinder, gentler” democracy for the 21st century. in fact, RT remains silent about the assassinations of russian journalists and when it comes to chechnya, dagestan and ingushetia, RT is little better than the washington post on iraq or the jerusalem post on palestine.
