2010 Earthquake (Magnitude 8.8) and Tsunami hit Chile affecting the capital Santiago

A massive earthquake with an initial magnitude of 8.8 has struck of the coast of Chile. tinyurl.com The quake struck at 0634 GMT (3:34 am local time) about 91km (56 miles) north-east of the city of Concepcion and 317km south-west of the capital, Santiago. Buildings in Santiago were reported to have shaken for between 10 and 30 seconds, with the loss of electricity and communications. The US issued an initial tsunami warning for Chile, Peru and Ecuador. That was later extended to Colombia, Antarctica, Panama and Costa Rica.
No habla de hechos consumados, está advirtiendo de que habrá un tsunami pero es muy anticipado decir cuán destructivo será. También dice que si alguien lo está viendo en las zonas afectadas, que no tienen muchos tiempo para escapar.

I’m from Chile. In southern Chile there are many houses destroyed.
(Maule), Santiago had also damaged parts.
The hepicentro was at a place called Cobquecura (Concepcion), and the tsunami in the region of Maule.
In the north there was a little earthquake a few days ago.
